Stat Trick

1. Two more goals for Blake, give him 101 as an Islander [He had seven as a King]. Twenty-five of the 101 have come on the powerplay.

2. Isles are 12-4-3 for 27 points in the last nineteen games. It's their best nineteen game stretch since the year I got married -- 1990.

3. Isles are 7-3-1 this month and have guaranteed themselves a winning November. They also had a winning record last November. It's the first time that they've had consecutive winning Novembers since doing so four years in a row: 1983-86.

Forever1940 is the nom de plume of FSN statistician Eric Hornick.

Eric, who has worked the Stanley Cup Finals four times, will celebrate his 25th anniversary as the statistician on Islander home telecasts on January 21, 2007. Often referred to on-air as an actuary, he is one of 2,901 Fellows of the Casualty Actuarial Society and is the President-Elect of the Casualty Actuaries of Greater NY.

You can find him in the "Best Seat in the House", about six feet to Howie and Billy's left, at most Islander home games.
