It's been a loooooooooooong time since the Isles beat the Rangers four times in a row [or beat the Rangers in each of the first three meetings of a season]

The Isles will look to go 3-0 on the season, and counting the last game of last season, will be looking for their fourth straight win over the Rangers, when the Blueshirts visit on Tuesday.

You have to go back to the Stanley Cup era, to find the last time that the Isles beat the Rangers in four consecutive regular season games -- in 1982 they beat the Rangers in five straight games:

23-Jan-82 VsNew York 6 1 W [2nd game of the 15 game winning streak...and my second game with SportsChannel!]
6-Mar-82 Vs New York 6 4 W
29-Mar-82 @ New York 7 3 W
11-Oct-82 @ New York 4 3 W
23-Oct-82 Vs New York 5 2 W

The Isles have opened a season with three straight wins over the Rangers three times....all in the 1970's:

1975-76
1977-78
and 1978-79. They'll have a chance to equal that on Tuesday, as well.
