Stat Trick: Ranger edition

Not a great weekend for the Islanders' next opponent, as they
were blown out 9-2 and 6-1.

It's been a long time since the Rangers have been blown out like
that in back-to-back games....

1. It's the worst back to back losses for the Blueshirts since
they were swept by the Red Wings, 8-2 and 6-0 in a home-and-home
on March 26-27 2000. (outscored by 12 goals)

The Rangers haven't lost consecutive games by more than 12 goals
in over 30 years, losing 9-1 to Buffalo and 7-1 to the Islanders
in 1975.

2. Their 6-1 loss on Sunday night was their first loss at MSG by
at least five goals since being beaten 5-0 by Calgary on March
5, 2000.

3. The Rangers last allowed 15 goals in consecutive games when
they collapsed towards the end of the 1992-93 season, losing 5-2
to the Devils and 10-4 to the Penguins. It's the first time
that the Blueshirts have allowed 15 goals in a pair of
back-to-backs since they lost 8-2 to the Isles and 7-6 to the
Oilers on October 31, and November 1, 1987.
