Avs WIN!

Colorado pounds the Canucks 4-1 tonight in Vancouver to end their 8-game losing streak.

With the win, Colorado passes Tampa Bay for 28th place.  Both teams have 66 points, but the Avs have played 1 fewer game.  Colorado also has more wins.

The Isles have 61 points, meaning that they can split their final 4 games and still be guaranteed the top seed.  They can go 2-1-1 and be guaranteed the top seed if Tampa gains one more point.

All three teams with a chance at Tavares are idle Monday.

All three play Tuesday:

Isles - @ Carolina
Tampa - Pittsburgh
Colorado- @ San Jose

If the Islanders lose in regulation AND Tampa wins AND Colorado wins/loses shootout or OT, the Isles would be guaranteed 30th place as early as Tuesday.

  1. Something tells me Colorado isn't beating San Jose.
