Quick clarification -- I wrote "top 3 seed" in the title and "top 3 choice" in the body. They would clinch a "top 3 seed", which is equivalent to clinching a "top 4 choice".
Forever1940 is the nom de plume of Eric Hornick, statistician on Islander home telecasts since 1982.
