Pre-season TV

Tonight's game is airing on a 30 minute tape-delay due to the Blue Jays game (really!) It's a Rogers SportsNet production.

I can confirm that we are televising the home pre-season game next Wednesday night vs. New Jersey.  That game will air on MSG+.

Somebody asked me this morning whether it is the first time the Isles have ever telecast a pre-season game (in past years, several games against the Rangers have been telecast, but they were Ranger telecasts).

There has definitely been one -- in 1995, I worked an Isle-Ranger pre-season game (Howie's first Islander telecast).  That might be the most recent one.

Forever1940 is the nom de plume of Eric Hornick, statistician on Islander home telecasts since 1982. Visit my blog: forever1940.blogspot.com and follow me on Twitter @ehornick

I like the title of your blog. As a Devils fan, I can appreciate it too. It's a shame that MSG+ can't find the time to broadcast more preseason games for both the Devils and Islanders (understanding there may be a conflict or two). I wouldn't expect much, except that MSG now insists on showing every Rangers preseason game and now throwing a bone for the one Rangers-Devils game in NJ. MSG+ has nothing else to show (I know Howie Rose is kind of busy these days).
