Isles Shootout history

A loyal reader (John Kingston) asked if the Isles, prior to Wednesday, had ever gone 3-3 in the shootout.

As best as I can tell -- no.

On November 14, 2005 the Isles won a shotout against the Pens 3-2, but that was a 9-round affair.

On April 15, 2006, the Isles won a shooutout against the Pens 4-3, scoring on four straight shots -- but those were shots 3-6 of the shootout.

On April 4, 2008, the Isles beat the Rangers 3-2 in a shootout, however they needed four shots to do it.  Somewhat surprisingly, all four of the shooters (Okposo, Comeau, Bergenheim and Park) are still with the team.  Lundqvist stopped only Bergenheim as the Isles closed their second consecutive season (and, as it turned out, the Ted Nolan era) with a shootout win.

According to the Isles guide, the Isles have allowed 3 goals in a shootout and lost only once: on February 10, 2007 in Boston.  That also was a 9-inning shootout.

(I found one error in this section of the Guide while cross-checking some of this; if I hear/read anything different, I'll let you know.)
