The National Hockey League on Tuesday suspended Colorado Avalanche forward Darcy
Tucker for one game, without pay, for making excessive physical
contact on an icing play in Monday's game at Los Angeles.
Tucker was assessed a minor penalty for tripping Kings defenseman Matt Greene on
the play, which occurred at 10:13 of the third period. He will miss
Wednesday's rematch against the Kings at the Pepsi Center in Denver.
Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, and based on his average annual salary, Tucker will forfeit $11,658.03. The money goes
to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
