Team USA captains

Both Kyle Okposo AND Eric Nystrom have been named assistant captains for Team USA at the World Championships. Jack Johnson is the captain; Matt Greene and Nick Foligno are also named assistants.  Okposo is the third-youngest player on the team; he's 6 days older than TJ Galliardi and three YEARS older than Chris Kreider of BC (Rangers draft pick).

Team USA is of course coached by Scott Gordon. It's unclear how the captains were selected.

All Team USA games will on Universal Sports  (Channel 110 - Cablevision) and universalsports.com.  (The web viewing carries a small fee -- $.99 for the first game)  John Ahlers (voice of the Ducks) will call the play-by-play.

The Americans' first game is on Friday at 2:00 ET against Germany.  Over 76,000 fans are expected to attend the game, which will be played outdoors in a soccer stadium, establishing a world record for attendance at a hockey game.
