<<New York, NY, September 21, 2010 – MSG is proud to announce that the four-time
Stanley Cup champion New York Islanders return to MSG Plus (and MSG Plus 2 and
MSG 2) for 81 telecasts this season. A complete schedule is below.
The Islanders open their regular season at home against the Dallas Stars on
Saturday, October 9 at 7:00 p.m. on MSG Plus. MSG Plus will televise a half-hour
pre-game show, "Islanders Game Night," and most games will be followed by a
post-game show. The popular "Hockey Night Live!" weekly roundup show returns for
its fourth season on MSG and MSG Plus, airing after Saturday night games
throughout the season.
Howie Rose is serving his 16th season as play-by-play announcer with new
full-time analyst and Islanders legend Butch Goring. Deb Placey will return as
the home host/reporter and Rob Carlin will again handle the host/reporter duties
for Islanders road games. Stan Fischler will serve as a league correspondent for
all Islanders home games. Islanders hockey on MSG Plus is produced by Jim
Daddona, directed by Larry Roth, with Bob de Poto serving as senior coordinating
producer. Dan Ronayne serves as executive vice president and general manager for
MSG Networks, and Jeff Filippi is senior vice president and executive producer.
MSG Networks will continue its unprecedented commitment to the NHL, as MSG and
MSG Plus will combine to telecast more than 300 live Rangers, Devils, Islanders,
and Sabres games during the 2010-2011 hockey season.
