Potvin joins Sens broadcast team
By BRUCE GARRIOCH, QMI Agency
The Senators have drafted an all-star defenceman from Ottawa into the broadcast
booth.
Former New York Islanders great Denis Potvin, an Ottawa native, has signed to
take over the job as the Senators' colour analyst after Garry Galley agreed to
a three-year deal with Hockey Night in Canada.
Potvin, let go by the Florida Panthers last summer for financial reasons, is
highly-regarded as one of the top analysts in the game. He is expected to call
all 52 broadcasts on Sportsnet this season.

While finances were a part of Potvin leaving the Panthers, I think that an equal
part was his refusal to live in Florida throughout the summer. Good luck to
Denny.
