Flatley, the 2nd longest tenured captain in Islander history (slightly longer
than Westfall, Sutter and Peca) was part of a very popular segment on Islander
television in the early 1990's. Alongside goaltender Glenn Healy, they
participated in a segment called "Heals and Flats". Flatley has worked for both
the league and the NHLPA in recent years.
