Frans Nielsen's place in history

Frans Nielsen is now part of the NHL history books -- With help from SIHR, I have confirmed that Saturday marked the first time in NHL history that 4 players scored on a penalty shot on the same day.

Most Penalty Shot Goals, One Day--
4 - October 30, 2010

1 David Steckel WASHINGTON Goal Henrik Karlsson CALGARY   WSH 7 @ CGY 2

2 Frans Nielsen NY ISLANDERS Goal Sergei Bobrovsky PHILADELPHIA  NYI 1 @ PHI 6

3 David Booth FLORIDA Goal Carey Price MONTREAL  FLA 3 @ MTL 1

4 Ryan Callahan NY RANGERS Goal Jean-Sebastien Giguere TORONTO  NYR 2 @ TOR 0

Nielsen may also be the 1st player to score on a penalty shot and draw a misconduct penalty for being assaulted off a face-off that cause the opponent to be suspended for three games, but that's another story. It's the only penalty Nielsen has taken this season.
