The Isles have two prospects on Team Canada::
Casey Cizikas had a goal and an assist
Team Canada assistant captain Calvin de Haan added a goal.
From TSN:
"It was an unbelievable feeling. I got a standing ovation there for a bit, and
it feels great," said de Haan, who pointed to his parents in the crowd after
scoring Canada's seventh goal late in the second period. "It was just a great
feeling."
From the Montreal Gazette::
"
OSHAWA, Ont. — It took the better part of five minutes to repair the damage
Casey Cizikas had inflicted on the corner boards, where a loosened stanchion
required the careful hands of helmeted arena workers who, really, were lucky
they only had to fix one pane of glass at the end of the first period.
Cizikas had pasted another faceless Switzerland jersey into the wall Monday
night, an exclamation point to a barrage of pent-up Canadian energy that was
also a grander signal of intent heading toward the world junior hockey
tournament. "

It appears that Nino Niederreiter did play for the Swiss but obviously did not
score.
The tournament opens in Buffalo on Sunday.
