Gillies > Staal

With special thanks to @pshea for asking about this....

There will hopefully be three 31 goal scorers on the ice tomorrow night when the
Isles host Carolina.  Michael Grabner and Matt Moulson share the Islander club
lead, while Eric Staal leads Carolina with the same total.

Grabner has scored his 31 goals in 1,077 minutes of ice time (1 goal every 35
minutes)
Moulson has played 1467 minutes (1 goal every 47 minutes)
Staal has played 1681 minutes (1 goal every 54 minutes)

Oh, and about the title of this little silliness.  Trevor Gillies has scored
twice this season in 104:14 of ice time (1 goal every 52 minutes).

Given that these players (along with Logan Couture and Jonathan Toews) are tied
for 12th in the NHL goal scoring, it is a safe bet that Gillies' goals per
minute played is towards the top of the league.  (Of the 19 Isles who had played
at least 500 minutes this season, only Grabner and Moulson have scored more
often than every 52 minutes)
