Tavares named to Caanda

John Tavares will compete in the World Championships, which begin on April 29th.

Barring either the Americans and Canadians finishing last in their preliminary
round group, Tavares will face the US (coached by Scott Gordon, with Al Montoya
as one of the netminders) somewhere between May 5 and May 9. (The exact date
won't be known until after the preliminaries are completed)

The US will face Seden, Norway and Austria, while Canada faces Switzerland,
Belarus and France. Both groups will play in Kosice, Slovakia (near the
Slovak-Hungarian border). Kosice is 6 hours ahead of NY, so all of the games
will be played in either the late morning or early afternoon NY time.
