The Isles were in Tampa and defeated the Lightning 3-2 in overtime on a Matt Moulson goal that was awarded after video review.

The win raised the Isles record to 4-1-2. Nobody knew it at the time, but it would turn out to be Scott Gordon's last win as coach of the Islanders. The Isles would go 0-9-1 in their next 10 and Gordon was replaced as Isles coach by Jack Capuano.
