The answer is a qualified yes.
With Nabokov injured in the first period, per NHL Rule 5.3, the Isles could use Nabokov if DiPietro was also injured. The exception only exists if the two goalies are "incapacitated". In fact, if Nabokov is not healthy enough to sit on the bench, Montoya could sit on the bench in uniform.
If he was not in uniform and was needed to play, he would be entitled to a 2-minute warmup -- A rare exception to the Al Arbour rule.
