When the divisions were re-aligned and the coaching carousel stopped, it turned out that two of the Isles biggest foes, Dale Hunter and Kirk Muller, have taken jobs in what (when approved) will become the Isles new conference.
However, word from Washington broke yesterday that Hunter has a contract with the Caps that takes him only through the end of this season.
Our former MSG+ colleague Rob Carlin has a piece on CSN-Washington about it: http://t.co/tnDPQJvS
Chuck Gormley, also of CSN- Washington, notes:
<<For Hunter it's a safety net. If he cannot rehabilitate the Capitals over the next four months, he'll pack up his only suit, hop on a plane and return to his job as coach and co-owner of the [OHL's London] Knights.>>
The Caps (likely coached by Hunter) have one remaining visit to Long Island this season, on Tuesday March 13th.
