The NHL currently is in the midst of its holiday roster freeze, but in these 60 degree temperatures, Dylan Reese is not frozen. He's been returned to Bridgeport.
Reese was recalled under "emergency conditions" which left the Isles with fewer than six defensemen. However, now that Mark Eaton is healthy the Islanders can not keep Reese around, even as a scratch, without subjecting him to waivers if they wanted to send him back to Bridgeport.
The termination of 'emergency conditions' is an exception to the roster freeze, which runs through December 27th.
