I don't see anything about a shoe being involved in this, but former Islander coach and GM Mike Milbury has been charged with assault and battery on a child.

The incident occurred in a youth hockey game in the Boston area. According to the report, Milbury, who is serving as an assistant coach on his son's team, assaulted a player on the other team.
The Boston Herald also has a report, noting that Milbury ... rushed onto the ice "and verbally berated and grabbed and shook the 12-year-old opposing player" who had become involved in an altercation with Milbury's son.

The child involved is likely Michael Milbury, who is Mike's son with his wife Ginger, a former Islander employee.
It's the second incident in the Boston area for someone with Islander connections this week. Corey Trivino was booted out of BU after he was arrested.
