Matt Moulson, who enters play today tied for 8th in the NHL in goals (15) has a chance tonight to join some lofty names.
Moulson had 4 goals against Dallas earlier this month; no NHL player has had 2 four-goal games since Alex Ovechkin in 2007-08. Ovechkin is the only NHL player with 2 four-goal games in a season since Mario Lemieux and Peter Bondra both did it in 1995-96.
While Moulson has all season to try for his 2nd 4-bagger, he has only tonight to look for his 2nd hat trick of the season against Dallas. Pierre Turgeon was the last Islander to score two hat tricks against the same opponent in the same season. Turgeon turned the tricks against the Devils on January 16 and April 16, 1993.
