If PA Parenteau can get a point tomorrow night in Philadelphia before Zach Parise does so for New Jersey (against Boston), he will beat Zach to 40 points. He will also give the Isles three 40-point men before New Jersey gets there (Elias, Kovalchuk already at 40+ as are Tavares and Moulson.)
Only one NHL team has three 40+ point men this season: Chicago. Hossa, Toews and Sharp all have at least 40, with Kane at 39. Only 17 teams have even one.
Detroit is also close to having three 40-point men, with Franzen and Filippula each needing two points to join Pavel Datsyuk in the club.
Just three seasons ago (2008-09), Mark Streit was the only Islander to reach 40 points in the entire season.
