Happy Birthday Stan Fischler! Vintage audio/video

Today is Stan Fischler's 80th birthday.

As a birthday treat, check out this audio/video from a  February 28, 1978 Islander-Leaf game.  If you look carefully, you'll see that this is one of the games that Harold Ballard had the Leafs wear blue letters on the back of their blue uniforms.

Stan not only did some commentary on the game --if you go about 8 minutes in, you will find him doing play-by-play. (Hawley Chester, the first Isles PR guy is one of the other voices.)

The Islanders won the game, 4-3.  The Leafs of course defeated the Isles in 7 games in the playoffs two months later on an overtime goal by Lanny McDonald.
