The Boston Bruins on Tuesday traded defenseman Yury Alexandrov to the New York Islanders for future considerations.
Alexandrov, a 2006 second-round pick of the Bruins, had 19 points in 66 games with the AHL Providence Bruins last season, his first in North
America.
However, Alexandrov opted to play in his native Russia this season. He had 6 points in 37 games split between SKA St. Petersburg and Avangard
Omsk. In six playoff games with Omsk, the 6-foot, 185-pounder has a goal and four assists.

Alexandrov was the Bruins' 2nd pick in that 2006 draft. They did a lot better with their 1st, 3rd and 4th picks: Phil Kessel, Milan Lucic and Brad Marchand.
