Matt Martin streak in jeopardy

Not sure what is ailing Matt Martin although apparently he traveled back apart from the team after last night's game because he was sick.  The NHL's leading hitter played just part of one shift in the third period and did not practice today.

Martin has played in every game this season, and a total of 90 consecutive games. He was suspended for four games last February after the brawl game with the Penguins.  He has played in all 135 games that he has been eligible for since being recalled from Bridgeport in late October 2010.

Besides Martin, five other Islanders have played every game this season: Matt Moulson, PA Parenteau, Frans Nielsen, John Tavares and Mark Streit.

The Islanders have not had four players play a complete season since 1986-87 (80 game season).  The club record is 9, set in 1975-76 (80 game season).
