Tavares is the fourth different Islander to have at least a 5-game goal scoring streak in the last three seasons.
Michael Grabner -6 games (10 goals) - February 5-15, 2011
Matt Moulson - 5 games (8 goals) - November 26- December 6, 2011
Kyle Okposo - 5 games (6 goals) - March 24- March 31, 2012
John Tavares - 5 games (7 goals) - February 7- CURRENT
(Prior to Grabner, no Islander since Zigmund Palffy 5 games (9 goals) - March 27- April 5, 1997) had goals in five straight games.)

If Tavares was to score on Monday, he would have the longest sreak in the NHL this season and match Grabner' 2011 streak as the longest by an Islander since Pallfy had a 7-game streak from February 29-March 16, 1996.
Tavares still has a ways to go to reach the club record -- the record is 11 and was set by Pat LaFontaine in the 1989-90 season.
