Elias has a good (bad) note on the Penguins win last night:
Crosby (0-5-5) and Kunitz (3-2-5) are the first teammates to record 5 points in a game since Dustin Penner (2-3-5) and Ales Hemsky (1-4-5) did so in an Edmonton- Columbus game on October 22, 2009.

From my own research:
- Last Isles teammates each with 5+ points in a game: Derek King (3-2-5) and Pat Lafontaine (3-3-6) on Feb 6, 1990 -- also in Pittsburgh. (Isles won 8-7 in overtime)
- Last teammates to do so against the Isles: Patrik Elias (4-1-5) and Scott Gomez (0-5-5) on March 30, 2003 in New Jersey.
- The last 4 players to record 5+ points against the Isles are all Penguins (Crosby 3x and Kunitz). No non-Penguin has done it to the Isles since October 23, 2008 (Mike Ribiero did it for Dallas).

Eric,
ReplyDeleteLove the blog. I keep a workbook of stats for all games (baseball, hockey, basketball, football) that I attend. I'd really appreciate it if you could take a look at it and give me some feedback on it. If you can give me a way to contact you, thanks!
