A Long 48 hours?

With the Isles' regular season ending on Friday, April 26th it could be a loooong 48 hours before the Isles know their first round playoff opponent (or for that matter whether they qualify)...

<<NEW YORK/TORONTO – The postponed game between the Ottawa Senators and Boston Bruins, originally scheduled for Monday night, has been rescheduled for Sunday, April 28, at TD Garden. Face-off will be at 7 p.m. ET. Broadcast information for the game, NHL Game No. 624, will be announced when available.>

From a league perspective, this rescheduling makes sense - the teams have only two off days in common: April 24 and April 26, and either one would have forced the Bruins to play three games in three days.

As it is, both teams will be playing their third game in four days:  Boston plays Tampa at home Thursday and in Washington on Saturday, while Ottawa visits Washington on Thursday and hosts Philadelphia Saturday.

The playoffs are scheduled to open on Tuesday, April 30th -- it is possible that all four Eastern Conference match-ups could depend on the outcome of this game.
