From the geniuses at Elias:
Mark Streit is the first defenseman to register at least three points (2-1-3) in a playoff game for the Isles since April 6, 1988, when Denis Potvin did it for the 19th and final time, going 1-2-3 in a 4-3 win over the Devils.
Streit is only the third (different) defenseman to score more than one goal in a playoff game for the Islanders. Potvin did it 11 times; as was mentioned in the broadcast the last one was on May 3, 1983 against the Bruins, when he scored twice in an 8-3 win. The only other Islanders D-man with a multi-goal playoff game was Stefan Persson, who tallied twice in Game 5 of the 1980 Stanley Cup Final at Philadelphia.
Additional note:
It was the first playoff game since Game 1 of the 2010 Stanley Cup Finals (5/29/2010) to have at least four goals that tied the score. (That game, won by Chicago 6-5 over Philadelphia had 5 tying goals: 1-1, 2-2, 3-3, 4-4, and 5-5)
