Max Pacioretty scored 1:51 into overtime for the game's only goal as the Montreal blanked the Islanders 1-0 before a crowd of 14,408 at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. The Isles have lost their last three home games, all in overtime, and are winless in their last five games at home (0-2-3).

Happy Anniversary
33 years ago tonight: December 14, 1980. Mike Bossy scored a first period shorthanded goal, a second period even-stength goal, and then added the game winner in the third period as the Islanders edged the Winnipeg Jets 5-4 in Manitoba. Bossy's winning goal came just 18 seconds after Morris Lukowich had tied the game for the Jets with a power play goal. Only eight of his 573 career goals came while shorthanded.
Overall, the Isles are 4-8-4 on this date with their point tonight being the first they have earned in six games on December 14th since they defeated the Devils 4-1 in 1993.
On The Farm
After losing to Albany on Friday, the Sound Tigers returned home to defeat Providence 2-1 on Saturday at Harbor Yards. Anders Nilsson made 26 saves, allowing only a sole goal with 12 seconds left to play. Bridgeport is now 10-12-1-3 on the season and visits Manchester on Sunday.
Anders Lee leads Bridgeport with ten goals and also leads current Sound Tigers in both assists (11) and points (21). Ryan Strome still leads both the team and the AHL in both assists (24) and points (33).

The Islanders will host the Tampa Bay Lightning for the only time this season as the Bolts visit Long Island on Tuesday. Tampa was blanked 3-0 in New Jersey tonight, but has to visit Detroit on Sunday before facing the Isles.
The Isles swept the season series last year, winning all three games in regulation. The Isles also hold a five-game home winning streak over Tampa Bay.
