From the Geniuses at Elias (and their ESPN.com column)
Isles Rally Again For Road Win
From Elias: The Islanders tied an NHL record when they overcame a 2-0 deficit to beat the Stars, 4-2, in Dallas. The Islanders have won their last seven road games, and in each of their last five road victories, they trailed by at least one goal. They're the sixth team in NHL history to win five consecutive road games despite trailing in each game, joining the 1929-30 Bruins, 1995-96 Whalers, 2006-07 Lightning, 2008-09 Penguins, and 2011-12 Avalanche in that exclusive club. The Bruins, Whalers, and Islanders are the only teams to pull off that feat without a shootout win included in their streak.
Golden Oldies Score For Stars
From Elias: Ray Whitney (age 41) and Sergei Gonchar (age 39) scored the goals for the Stars in their 4-2 loss to the Islanders. It was the first time this season that an NHL team had two players, each at least 39 years old, score goals in the same game. That happened three times last season, all pairing Whitney with his then Dallas teammate, Jaromir Jagr (January 19, March 20 and March 21, 2013).
