"The Skinny"

Game 48

The loss snaps the Islanders' 4-game winning streak overall and seven game road winning streak. It's the 15th time this season that the Islanders have allowed at least three goals in a period (0-15-0).

The Islanders recent hot streak began with a win at Madison Square Garden that following a disappointing shootout loss to Tampa Bay at the Coliseum. Valtteri Filippula scored twice in the final three minutes, including the tying goal off a scramble with less than 4 seconds to play and then also scored in the shootout.
Despite that shootout loss, the Isles are 9-3-1 in their last 13 games against the Lightning.
