Elias on Lee's strong start

Anders Lee now has 5 goals in 7 career NHL games (including 4 goals in 6 games this season).  The geniuses at Elias note that only one Islander, Pat LaFontaine (7 in first 7 games) had more goals in their first 7 NHL games.

4 others (none of whom were named Bossy) also scored 5 goals in  their first 7 NHL games:  Billy Harris, Bryan Trottier, John Tonelli and Duane Sutter.

(From Eric: Bossy scored only 3 goals in his first 7 games -- he tallied goals in games 8 and 9 to reach 5 on his way to a 53-goal rookie season)

Elias also noted that Taylor Hall's OT goal last night removed him from the NHL lead in goals amongst players who had not been credited with a game-winning goal this season.  That distinction now belongs to Frans Nielsen, who has scored 19 goals without being credited with a GWG.

(From Eric: Only 7 of Nielsen's 79 career goals have been game-winners, his most recent GWG was on April 2, 2013 vs. Winnipeg)
