Isles recall Brett Gallant

There will likely be another "new" New York Islander in the lineup on Tuesday for the home finale when the Isles host Ottawa.

The team recalled Brett Gallant on an emergency basis from Bridgeport, and returned Johan Sundstrom to the Sound Tigers.  Assuming he gets into a game, he will be the 13th rookie used by the Isles this season (including goaltender Anders Nilsson)and the 36th player overall (including 3 goalies).

Gallant's totals (from hockeyfights.com) speak for themselves:

In 56 games this season with the Sound Tigers, Gallant has 1 goal, 1 assist and 245 penalty minutes.
In parts of 4 seasons with Bridgeport, he is 4-2-6 in 140 games, with 600 penalty minutes.

He was in his 66th fight as a Sound Tiger on Sunday, breaking Micheal Haley's club record of 65. (h/t Mike Fornabaio)

Gallant is NOT related to former Isles assistant Gerard Gallant, who is now an assistant in Montreal.
