tonight (1991) – In the second game following two large trades that would
eventually form the backbone of the 1993 playoff team, the Islanders got goals
from five different newcomers as they broke open a tie game to defeat the San
Jose Sharks 8-4 in the first-ever meeting of the squads.
Dave
McLlwain, Adam Creighton, Benoit Hogue, Steve Thomas and Pierre Turgeon all
scored their first goals in Islander uniforms; Derek King scored twice while
Dave Chyzowski had the other Islander tally.
It was the 14th of 15 career goals for Chyzowski, who was
selected with the second pick overall in 1989.

the Devils in a 5-3 Isles win.
