(2007) – In one of the most memorable nights in recent Coliseum history, Al Arbour stepped behind the Coliseum bench one final time, coaching the Isles to his 740th regular season win in his 1,500th NHL game as the Isles defeated Pittsburgh 3-2.

39 years ago tonight (1975) – Jean-Paul Parise scored three goals and added an assist as the Islanders beat the California Golden Seals 5-3. Captain Ed Westfall added a shorthanded goal and an assist.

26 years ago tonight (1988) Pat Lafontaine scored the winner in the shortest overtime game in Islander history as the Isles beat the Caps 4-3.

21 years ago tonight (1993) – Marty McInnis scored a goal and added an assist, earning the game's #1 star, as the Islanders defeated the Hartford Whalers 6-3.

34 years ago tonight (1980) – Mike Bossy recorded his second hat trick of the season, raising his total to 15 goals in 15 games, as the Isles beat Chicago 7-3. Bryan Trottier assisted on all three goals and had a goal of his own as the Isles improved to 7-5-3 on the season.

38 years ago tonight (1976) - Bob Bourne scored two goals and six other Isles also scored as the Isles trounced the Detroit Red Wings 8-1.

27 years ago tonight (1987) – Pat Lafontaine scored the game's first three goals for his second career hat trick but the Isles would need an overtime goal from Brad Lauer to defeat the Washington Capitals 4-3.

34 years ago tonight (1980) – Mike Bossy scored four goals for his 11th career hat trick, but the Isles needed a goal by Denis Potvin with 2:10 to play to salvage a 6-6 tie with the Minnesota North Stars in what turned out to be a preview of the following spring's Stanley Cup Final.
