Jaro Halak has been named the NHL's First Star of the Week.
It is the sixth time in the last six seasons that he has been named one of the NHL's Three Stars, and the third time in that span he has been honored as the #1 Star:

Halak is the second Islander to be named a Star of the Week this season; Frans Nielsen was honored with the Third Star following his hat trick in October. The last Islander to be named a First Star of the week was John Tavares back in January and the last Islander goalie to be so honored is Dwayne Roloson, back in December 2010.
The Islanders have had at least 1 "First Star of the Week" in each of the last 5 seasons:
2010-11 Roloson (Dec)
2011-12 Matt Moulson (Dec) & Michael Grabner (Feb)
2012-13 John Tavares (Feb)
2013-14 Tavares (Jan)
2014-15 Halak (Nov)
(Exact dates not available)
Ryan Callahan and Karri Ramo were named 2nd Star and 3rd Star.
Halak could also be in line for the Star of the Month honor. This should be released either today or tomorrow.
