5 years ago tonight (2010) - Deuces were wild for the Isles as they scored twice in each period, got two goals by Rob Schremp, got two goals by their defense, and battered two Red Wing goalies in nearly doubling Detroit in shots (31-16) enroute to a 6-0 victory over the Red Wings.
Dwayne Roloson was in the Islander net, recording his only shutout as an Islander, and the 24th of his career as the Red Wings were shutout on Long Island for the first time in 34 years. “"I've played against Detroit a lot in my career and that's probably one of the best games I've seen against them,” Roloson told Newsday’s Katie Strang.
The Isles improved to 7-2-1 in their last ten games, matching their best ten game streak since late-February, 2008 while Roloson extended his season mark to 18-7-6 with his fourth straight win.
The Isles moved over .500 after Christmas for the first time since March 11, 2008.
