#Isles are 3-0-0 vs #NYR for first time since 2007-08 season. NYR won 3 of final 5 meetings that season as Isles went 5-3-0 & NYR were 3-2-3.
The Isles have won the three games by a combined score of 13-4, and had outscored the Rangers 11-2 over the last 7 periods with both Rangers goals coming late in games that the Isles held four goal leads (Rick Nash at 17:50 on October 14 & Carl Hagelin with 10 seconds to play on January 27th).
It's the first time the Isles have won three straight games vs the Rangers, each by at least thee goals in the same season. The only other time it happened in consecutive regular season games was on March 17, April 8 and November 13, 1979 -- two of those wins were monumental wins by the Isles with the team clinching 1st place overall on April 8 and the Double Chili game in November. Of course, the Rangers won a playoff series in the middle of that stretch.
Last time Isles won 4 straight vs NYR 4/3/07-11/19/07 (streak started with shootout win at time a shootout loss would have eliminated Isles from playoffs)
Isles have never won first 4 games vs NYR to start a season series, but they'll have a chance to do so tonight.
