The Islanders exploded for three goals in the third period to break open a 1-0 game and hand the Columbus Blue Jackets their 7th straight loss to open the season, defeating the Jackets, 4-0 before a crowd of 14,295 at Nationwide Arena. The Isles, who moved back into a tie for first place in the Metropolitan Division, have won four straight games and are off to their 2nd-best start through six games in the Post-Cup era (5-0-0-1 in 2001-02).

Jaroslav Halak recorded his 37th career shutout (and 7th as an Islander), making 37 saves. It's the most shots Halak has faced in a shutout as an Islander. Halak now owns a shutout vs. 22 opponents.

The Isles return home for the front-end of back-to-backs as they face the Boston Bruins. The Bruins took two of three from the Isles last season but the Isles are 4-3-0 in their last seven against Boston.
This is the first of two meetings of the season at Barclays Center. The Bruins will also visit Brooklyn on November 8th.
