After Roberto Luongo stopped all 19 Islander shots in the first period, the Florida Panthers scored three times in the second period enroute to a 5-1 win over the Islanders before a crowd of 13,656 at Barclays Center. The loss snaps the Isles' 10-game point streak and drops the Isles to third place in the Metropolitan Division, one point behind the New York Rangers.

The Skinny:

Strange Statline of the Night
Jonathan Huberdeau was awarded an empty net goal when he was fouled by John Tavares. Huberdeau finished 1-0-1, was a +3, but was credited with 0 shots on goal. According to hockey-reference.com, he is the 11th player since 2006 to have a goal and 0 shots on goal. The Isles' PA Parenteau had a similar statline on March 11, 2011 vs. Boston, when he was also awarded an EN goal.

The Isles begin a two-game road trip in Denver as they look at sweep the season series from the Avalanche. The Isles defeated Colorado 5-3 in Brooklyn by scoring three third period goals.
Colorado is going home after sweeping a 3-game road trip; the Avs shut out Chicago 3-0 at the United Center on Tuesday, ending Patrick Kane's 26-game point streak.
The Isles were blanked 5-0 in Denver last October; it was their first regulation loss to the Avs in Denver since 2001.
