Travis Hamonic broke a 2-2 tie with an early third period goal and later added his 100th career assist as the Islanders scored three goals in the third period to extend their point streak to four games with a 5-2 win over the Ottawa Senators before a crowd of 18,305 at Canadian Tire Center.
Hamonic, playing his first game since January 7th also assisted on a John Tavares in the third period as the Isles rallied from a 2-1 deficit midway through the second period.
The Isles remain one point behind the Rangers in the battle for second place in the Metropolitan Division.

The Isles return home to begin a three game homestand as they host the Flyers. It will be the fourth of five meetings on the season between the teams; the Isles have captured two of the first three (Isles 2-1-0; Philadelphia 1-1-1).
