John Tavares is the Isles' representative for this year's All-Star Game.
It's the third straight game for which Tavares has been selected (2012 and 2015 being the others). The lockout canceled the 2013 game while the Olympics replaced the 2014 contest.
Tavares is the first Islander since Pat LaFontaine to be named to consecutive all-star games (let alone 3): Patty went from 1988-1991 as an Islander.
Forever1940 is the nom de plume of Eric Hornick, statistician on Islander home telecasts since January 21, 1982. Visit my blog: NYISkinny.com and follow me on Twitter @ehornick
