The geniuses at Elias came up with this one this morning:
It's the first time since April 5, 1994 that the Isles have scored an overtime goal in a game they trailed in the final minute of play.
At the US Air Arena in Landover that night, the Isles trailed 2-0 and 3-2 before Ray Ferraro tied the game and Benoit Hogue won it.
Only once in the interim had the Isles tied a game in the last minute and won it in a shootout -- February 9, 2010 vs. Nashville. Mark Streit scored the tying goal at 19:48 of the third and John Tavares scored the deciding goal in the 4th round of the shootout.

Last night's overtime win was Jack Capuano's 200th behind the Islander bench (72nd all-time). Al Arbour is the only other Islander to COACH 200 games, let alone win 200.
Here's the details on their respective 200th wins as Islander coach; it took Capuano only 6 more games than Arbour to win 200:
Al Arbour 11/18/78 (8-2 vs Phil) 200-128-87 -- 415 games
Jack Capuano 3/3/16 (4-3 OT vs Wpg) 200-168-53 -- 421 games
Of course, to be fair there were no shootouts, or even overtime in the era Arbour won his first 200 games. (Arbour's first 424 regular season wins with the Isles all came before overtime was in the rules)
Of Capuano's 200 wins, 141 have come in regulation, 24 in overtime, and 35 in shootouts.

I noted last night that the Isles have played 31 at home and 31 on road. There's another 31 too -- that's the Isles magic number to clinch a playoff berth (points won by the Isles or lost by the Flyers). Maybe Baskin-Robbins will sponsor The Skinny?
