It's been 25 years since the Isles did what they did tonight

The complete Skinny will follow but this one is too good to wait.

The Isles trailed 2-0 tonight, until Kyle Okposo's goal got them on the board at 12:50 of the third period. According to the geniuses at Elias Sports Bureau, this is the latest that the Isles have trailed by 2 goals in a game they won in regulation since January 13, 1991.

That night, the Isles trailed 3-1 in Quebec, before rallying for three in the final 5:40 for the win.

Here's the boxscore:
First Period
1 - NYI : Ferraro 11 (Volek) (EV) 5:39

Second Period
No Scoring

Third Period
2 - QUE : Lapointe 2 (Kimble, Pearson) (EV) 6:22
3 - QUE : Fogarty 9 (EV) 8:28
4 - QUE : Hrkac 9 (EV) 8:56

6 - NYI : Wood 15 (Volek) (EV) 17:59
7 - NYI : King 8 (EV) 18:34

That win gave the Isles 38 points (16-23-6); tonight's win gave them 38 wins (38-21-8).
