"The Skinny"
By Eric Hornick
Game 67
Isles 3, Florida 2
In the biggest comeback of its kind for the Isles in 25 years, Cal Clutterbuck scored the winning goal with 99 seconds to play as the Isles rallied from a 2-0 deficit for a 3-2 victory over the Florida Panther before a sellout crowd of 14,106 at Barclays Center.
The Isles trailed by a pair when Kyle Okposo got the Islanders on the board with 7:10 to play. It marked the first time that the Isles had won a game in regulation that they trailed by 2 goals that late in the game since January 13, 1991 in Quebec, when the Isles rallied from a 3-1 deficit, scoring three times in the final 5:40, for a 4-3 victory.
The Isles improve to 8-2-1 in their last 11 games and 12-3-2 in their last 17 games as they snap a two-game winless streak (0-1-1). The Isles close within one point of the Rangers for second place in the Metropolitan Division and move four points ahead of the 4th place Penguins. The Isles hold one game-in-hand on the Penguins and two on the Rangers.
