John Tavares scored two goals and added an assist and the Isles also got goals from three different defensemen as they rallied for a 6-3 win before a crowd of 11,583 at Barclays Center.
Zach Parise scored twice for the Wild, giving him 301 career goals as he became the third Minnesotan to reach 300 career goals; 20 of Parise's 301 goals have come against the Isles. Parise is also the leading goal scorer among all American-born players.

Offense from Defense
Three Islander defensemen scored goals for the first time since February 19, 2015 vs. Nashville when Nick Leddy, Johnny Boychuk and Brian Strait all scored.
First Times in a Ridiculously Long Time
The Isles defense has combined for 5 goals in the last two games. It's the first time since December 29-31, 2007 that the Isles defense has scored multiple goals in consecutive games. Marc-Andre Bergeron, Chris Campoli and Andy Sutton all scored in a win over New Jersey on 12/29/07; Bergeron scored twice in Carolina on New Year's Eve.
The Isles hadn't gotten goals from multiple defenders in consecutive games since April 2-4, 2004.
Lots of Home Cooking
The Isles are 3-1-0 in the first four games of an 11-game stretch in which the Isles will play 10-out of-11 at home for the first time in their history. This includes two separate five game homestands, separated by a road game in Pittsburgh.
All four of their opponents on this homestand have played the night before (3-1-0); the Isles had the previous night off for each of the last three games (2-1-0).

Season Series Stats

It's the first of three meetings between the teams this season; Montreal has swept six games over the last two seasons from the Isles, outscoring New York 23-12.
Last season's series was played in a span of 18 days in November. Carey Price picked up two of the three wins, just before suffering an injury that ended his season.
