Joe Pavelski deflected a Joe Thornton shot with 2:11 to play for the winning goal as the San Jose Sharks rallied from a 2-1 deficit and defeated the Islanders 3-2 before a crowd of 10,772 at Barclays Center.
Aaron Dell made 21 saves in his NHL debut to record the victory for the Sharks.

The Skinny
Anthony Beauvillier scored his first NHL goal for the Islanders; he's the youngest Islander since Nino Niederreiter to score a goal and the 355th player in club history to do so; Beauvillier's goal was also the first NHL goal allowed by Aaron Dell. Beauvillier is the first player in Islander history to score his 1st NHL goal against a goalie who allowed his first NHL goal.…Micheal Haley assisted on the first Shark goal for his 2nd career assist (2-25-11 for the Isles vs. Philadelphia)…Brock Nelson extended his point streak to four games; Nelson now has 11 goals and 13 assists in 32 October games…It's the first regulation loss for the Isles at Barclays Center against a Western Conference opponent (13-1-2)…The Isles were held without a shot on goal in the final 12:47 of the first period…John Tavares played in 514th Isles game, tying Dave Lewis for 24th on the club's all-time list…Both Joe Thornton and Brent Burns assisted on the last two San Jose goals. The homestand continues as the Isles host the Arizona Coyotes on Friday. For the second straight game, the Isles will be catching an opponent on the back-end of a back-to-back as Arizona plays in Montreal on Thursday night.
The Coyotes dropped a 7-4 decision to Ottawa on Tuesday; Ryan Strome's younger brother, Dylan, recorded an assist in his NHL debut.
The Isles split a pair of games with Arizona last season, winning 5-2 on home-ice and dropping a 1-0 decision in Scottsdale.
