Tampa Bay 6, Isles 1
Nikita Kucherov scored two power play goals and added two assists as the Tampa Bay Lightning scored three times in each of the first two periods as they defeated the Islanders 6-1 before a crowd of 10,822 at Barclays Center.
Dennis Seidenberg scored the only Islander goal as the defense connected for a goal for the sixth straight game – the longest streak by the Isles' defense in over 30 years!

The Skinny
Nikita Kucherov recorded his second 4-point game of the season, both on the road, as the Lightning broke a 3-game losing streak… The Islander defense scored a goal for the 6th straight game, giving them nine goals in that span. The defense has combined for 10-13-23 this season; it's the first time the Isles defense has scored in 6 straight games since the 1980s… Anthony Beauvillier played in his 9th game of the season; the Isles must make a decision before he plays another whether to return him to Junior or activate the first year of his entry level contract…Jaroslav Halak made his first relief appearance for the Isles after starting 100 games…The Isles allowed six goals at Barclays Center for the first time. It was the most one-sided loss to Tampa Bay since a 6-0 loss on March 3, 2001...The Isles allowed a shorthanded goal for the first time this season…With the score 1-0, the Isles successfully challenged a Lightning goal due to an offsides.
The Injury…and First Time in the NHL
Calvin deHaan was assessed an interference major for a hit on Jonathan Drouin; Drouin left the game and did not return. Ryan Callahan instigated a fight with deHaan on the same play; it was deHaan's first NHL fight. According to hockeyfights.com, it was deHaan's first fight at any level since a 2011 fight in the Ontario Hockey League.

The Isles defense has scored at least once in six straight games; it's the longest streak for the club in over 31 years and the second longest streak in the post-Cup era.

The homestand continues with the first of four meetings this season between the Isles and the Philadelphia Flyers. Both teams have seen a lot of goals from their defense; the Isles have 10 goals from their defenders while the Flyers have 8.
Philadelphia is 4-5-1 on the young season, and will host Detroit on Wednesday before heading up to Brooklyn for the game on Thursday.
The Isles won the first two meetings last season (once in a shootout) before the Flyers came back to win the last three.
The Isles will be looking for their first victory against a divisional opponent (0-3-0) after going 18-8-4 in divisional games last season.
